Belle Fourche picked up the team title as the South Dakota State High School Rodeo finals concluded in Ft. Pierre on June 17, 2023. Area athletes earning state titles were:
Kashton Ford of Sturgis in Bareback
Piper Cordes of Wall in Barrel Racing
Kash Krogman of New Underwood took the Bull Riding
Landry Haugen took titles in both Goat Tying and Girls Cutting
Aspen Vining of Buffalo was the winner in Pole Bending
Dallie Lawrence of Alzada won the Reined Cow Horse competition
Eastan West of New Underwood earned the state title in Saddle Bronc
Quinn Moon of Creighton was the winner in Steer Wrestling
Rance Bowden and Sern Swishaar of Belle Fourche were tops in Team Roping
And:
Grey Gilbert of Buffalo took the Tiedown Title
Winners will now move on to compete in the National High School Finals as the 75h edition takes place in Gillette July 16-22.
The College National Finals Rodeo concluded over the weekend in Casper. The Women from Gillette College finished 8th in the Team Standings while Black Hills State was 13th.
Haiden Thompson of Gillette College earned the Womens all around title.
