Efforts Underway To Stop Sex Trafficking At Sturgis Rally

Efforts are underway to stop sex trafficking at this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Attorney General Marty Jackley says law enforcement has a plan for the rally after the issue has grown in recent years. Since 2020, authorities arrested 23 people on charges of human trafficking during the Rally. The majority of the victims are underage girls. Eight of the nine men arrested in 2021 also faced attempted enticement of a child charges. Lisa Heth, the executive director of the Pathfinder Center, says the service will be on site educating people at the rally and providing the local hotline number. The rally officially begins on August 4th.
