BHSU Track and Field Announces 2023-24 Schedule

Black Hills State track and field has announced its 2023-24 season schedule, which includes seven meets in both the indoor and outdoor portions of the year.

The Yellow Jackets will spend the majority of the indoor season in South Dakota as they begin the season on Friday, Jan. 13 at home with the Myrle Hanson Open before heading East River for the SDSU Division II Invite on Friday, Jan. 19.

BHSU will then return to the Donald E. Young Center Fieldhouse to host the David Little Alumni Mile on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27 before heading to Fargo, North Dakota for the only out-of-state indoor meet on the slate at the North Dakota State Bison Open on Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb 3.

The following weekend, Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10, track and field will once again return to Brookings, South Dakota for the SDSU Indoor Classic before hosting the Stinger Open on Saturday, Feb. 17.

Returning to BHSU for the first time since the 2020-21 season, the RMAC Indoor Championships will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Young Center Fieldhouse. The NCAA DII National Championships will cap off the indoor portion of the season on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9, hosted by Pittsburg State University (Kansas).

Following indoor nationals, the Yellow Jackets will begin the outdoor portion of the 2023-34 season at the CSU Pueblo Early Bird on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16. The BHSU track and field squads will then head to Wayne, Nebraska for the Wayne State Wildcat Classic on Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23.

Heading into the end of March, BHSU will be at Colorado State University for the Jack Christiansen Invite on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30. The track squads will then split off for two meets on the weekend of Thursday, April 4 through Saturday, April 6: the Jo Meaker Invite and Multi at West Texas A&M on Thursday, April 4 through Saturday, April 6, and the Kit Meyer Classic at Colorado Mines on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6.

After the long road stretch, BHSU will return to Spearfish for the Yellow Jacket Spring Open on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13. The RMAC Outdoor Championships will take place on Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28 at Colorado Mesa before the NCAA DII Outdoor Nationals will cap off the year on Thursday, May 23 through Saturday, May 25 from Emporia State University.
