Construction crews working on the Spearfish Colorado Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Project just west of the North 27th Street intersection have unexpectedly encountered rock, slowing progress significantly. The contractor, Dakota Redi-Mix, Inc. of Blackhawk, SD has completed approximately half of the work which is scheduled to be fully complete by late October 2024. It is unknown when the rock removal will be completed, but the current recreation path and lane closures will remain in place until they can be safely reopened. The City and Contractor are working diligently to resolve the issue and apologize for the added inconvenience that the delay has created.
