New parents or families with difficulties finding childcare in the Black Hills may have more luck with the launch of the new online portal, Black Hills Finds Child Care.
The portal, developed by Bridgecare and managed by Klein Visioneering Group, is a hub for providers to advertise their services and parents to find the perfect match for their preferences. The portal aims to make the search process for preschool and school-age programs as well as child care easier.
The portal’s key features for families include:
-Up-to-date opening and contact information
-Assistance from local teams for support
-Scheduling tools
-Proximity-based search options
-Customizable filters
Through funding from the John T. Vucurevich Foundation, the portal is free to use and features providers in Belle Fourche, Black Hawk, Box Elder, Hill City, Lead-Deadwood, Spearfish, Sturgis, Summerset and Rapid City. It’s full launch is estimated to be ready in May, 2025.
