The Black Hills State University football team and head football coach, Josh Breske, has announced the kick-off times for the 6-game home slate at Lyle Hare Stadium this fall. A total of two night games will highlight the schedule and a date with the 2024 RMAC Champions, CSU Pueblo.
It will be “Cool Off & Kick-Off” as the Yellow Jackets begin the year on Thursday, August 28, at 6 p.m. against former SDIC rival Sioux Falls. As summer comes to a close, fans are encouraged to join in water related pre-game festivities as the 2025 season begins at Lyle Hare Stadium. The game sponsor will be Tropical Smoothie Café.
Nearly a month later the Green & Gold will return home for the annual Swarm Days game when they host perennial RMAC power, Colorado School of Mines for a 1 p.m. kick-off on Saturday, September 27. Fans will be encouraged to wear Green & Gold for the homecoming game, while the university will have a disco theme, “Stayin’ Alive in the Hive.” The game sponsor will be Build Your Base.
The second night game of the year at Lyle Hare Stadium will occur when BHSU welcomes rival South Dakota Mines to town for a 6 p.m. kick-off on Saturday, October 4. Fans will be encouraged to wear Green & Gold for the 140th edition of the Black Hills Brawl with the Hardrockers, and the game sponsor will be Monument Health.
The annual Hero’s Day game will take place on Saturday, October 18, with a 1 p.m. kick-off against reigning RMAC Champions, CSU Pueblo. As the Yellow Jackets honor and recognize local first responders, as well as those who have served our country, fans are encouraged to wear camo for the game.
The action then shifts to the final month of the regular season, when Black Hills State hosts Colorado Mesa for a 1 p.m. kick-off on Saturday, November 1. Kids in attendance will be encouraged to come out to Lyle Hare Stadium for Trunk or Treating with Yellow Jacket student-athletes.
The home schedule will come to a close with a 1 p.m. kick-off for senior day on Saturday, November 15, against New Mexico Highlands. Prior to the start of the game the Yellow Jackets will recognize the senior members of the football program. The athletic department will also be working in conjunction with the BHSU Food Pantry, as fans will be encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and receive a discount on single game tickets.
