All are invited to stop by Black Hills Energy Sports Complex, 350 W. Highway 14, for a free Touch A Truck Event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 23rd!
This event is organized by the City of Spearfish Safety Committee.
“We’re excited to host this family-friendly, hands-on experience to explore and interact with various type of vehicles, and their operators, that keep our community running smoothly,” City of Spearfish Safety Coordinator Tyler Ehnes said, describing that participants of all ages will have the chance to get an up-close look at vehicles and equipment used across a variety of career fields, including emergency services, construction, utility services, military, and more.
“We’re thankful to our partners across various industries who have agreed to participate in the event, and we’ll have City vehicles there, as well,” Ehnes said.
Participants are encouraged to park in the southern portion of the parking lot or gravel near the highway and stop at the registration table upon arrival to sign a waiver before exploring the trucks, which will be parked in the northern section of the parking lot.
“We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, packing sun protection, and staying hydrated,” Ehnes said.
Popcorn and water will be provided free of charge (while supplies last).
