“Notify Me” subscription options
Anyone wishing to get free email or text notifications about City news, alerts, calendar items, meeting agendas, or bid postings can sign up through the Notify Me option on the City’s website by CLICKING HERE. This tool is one more way to keep citizens updated on information ranging from holiday closures or changes to garbage collection schedules to City events and more!
The Notify Me link is visible on the main page City website page, under “Popular Links,” or available on the specific portions of the website available through the option. Once users create an account, they may sign up for:
- Agendas, from City commissions/boards, including:
- Black Hills Airport Board
- Board of Adjustment
- City Council
- City Council Study Session
- Historic Preservation Commission
- Library Board of Trustees
- Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Advisory Board
- Planning Commission
- Alerts, including:
- Holiday Schedule: Stay informed about upcoming holiday closures and schedule changes. Sign up to receive notifications so you never miss an update to our holiday hours.
- Road Closures: Stay updated on road closures and traffic disruptions in your area. Sign up for alerts to plan ahead and avoid delays.
- Parks and Rec Center: Stay updated on what’s going on with Spearfish Parks and Recreation!
- Snow Removal: Get timely alerts about snow removal operations in your area. Sign up to stay informed about plowing schedules, parking restrictions, and service updates during winter weather.
- Utility Alerts: Receive notifications about utility service interruptions, maintenance, and emergency repairs. Stay informed to minimize disruptions.
- Bid Postings, when there are bid opportunities.
- Calendar Events: The City website includes the Library Calendar, Main Calendar, and Rec and Aquatics Center Calendar, which have various City events, activities, and meetings posted.
- The City website also allows users to subscribe to iCalendar, which allows users to import internet calendars and/or events into their personal calendar applications, so they may choose to import a single event or subscribe to the entire calendar to have theirs automatically update their calendar as events are added to the website.
- News, providing updates from the City about a variety of topics, public service announcements, etc.
At any time, people may change their Notify Me subscriptions or change how they receive their subscriptions (email or text message).
CivicReady Emergency Alerts
Users also have the option to sign up for Emergency Alerts by CLICKING HERE from the City, which uses CivicReady, an electronic mass communication tool, to communicate during an emergency, like a severe weather event. The City encourages citizens to sign up for CivicReady to receive alerts via email, text, and voice alerts.
Updates will also be posted on the City’s website, social media, email, local media, and other communications tools readily available to communicate updates.
