The South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) has officially released the 2025 playoff brackets for Class 11B, 9AA, 9A, 9B, and the All-Nations divisions. Initial pairings were announced Saturday, with updates finalized Monday.
In Class 11B, St. Thomas More (8-0) enters as the No. 2 seed with 45.000 power points and will host No. 15 Hot Springs (4-4) on Thursday. The Cavaliers have posted six consecutive shutouts and defeated Hot Springs 27–0 earlier this month. Elk Point-Jefferson (8-0) holds the No. 1 seed with 46.875 power points, joining STM as the only undefeated teams in the class.
Class 9AA features Hill City (7-1) as the No. 4 seed after a bracket revision moved them up from No. 5. The Rangers will host No. 13 Great Plains Lutheran (4-4). Bennett County (3-5) secured a playoff spot at No. 14 and will travel to No. 3 Parkston (7-1). Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy (8-0) leads the bracket as the top seed.
In Class 9A, the Wall Eagles earned the No. 1 seed after an undefeated regular season, outscoring opponents 444–32. They will host No. 16 Lemmon/McIntosh (3-5). The Philip Scotties enter as the No. 4 seed with a 6–1 record, their only loss coming against Wall in Week 1. Harding County (5-3) is seeded No. 12 and will travel to No. 5 Ipswich (7-1).
Kadoka Area (4–4) clinched the No. 8 seed in Class 9B, narrowly edging Corsica-Stickney (5-3) by 0.125 power points for a home playoff berth. The Cougars will host the Jaguars in round one. Dell Rapids St. Mary’s (8-0) holds the top seed, while defending champion Sully Buttes (7-1) enters as No. 5.
In the All-Nations brackets, Winnebago (NE, 8-0) and Todd County (7-1) lead Class A as the top two seeds. In Class B, McLaughlin (8-0) and White River (7–1) top the standings. Both brackets award first-round byes to the top two seeds.
