The 18-11 Spearfish Lady Spartans travel to Howard-Naasz Gym to battle the 8-18 Rapid City Central Cobblers this Tuesday night , October 28, 2025. Both teams look to climb up the Class AA standings. Spearfish enters the match as the 10th seed, while Central enters as the 15th seed, just barely in the top 16 that qualify for postseason play.
Both teams competed against five teams in last weekend’s East/West Tournament: Yankton, Brookings, Watertown, #1 Harrisburg, and #2 Brandon Valley. The Spartans finished 2-3, with wins over Yankton and Brookings. The Cobblers, meanwhile, finished 0-5 without winning a single set. Spearfish was led by senior outside hitter Adelyn Bouman, who had 46 kills offensively, and senior right-side Kaitlyn Wheaton had 8 blocks in the tournament.
Rapid City Central has dominated the series 19-4 since 2007, but Spearfish has been the hot team as of late, winning three of the last four matchups. First serve is slated for 7:00 pm.
