The Spearfish boys improved to 2–0 with a solid 56–45 road victory over Aberdeen Central on Friday night. After trailing 13–9 at the end of the first quarter, the Spartans settled in and outscored the Eagles in each of the final three periods to secure the win.
Bennett Kortan led the way with 16 points, earning Superior Auto Solutions Player of the Game honors. Kade Vavruska added 15 points, giving Spearfish a steady one‑two punch throughout the night.
Aberdeen Central was paced by Luke Swanson, who finished with 15 points, including 12 in the first half.
Swanson battled injuries after halftime, limiting his minutes and impact down the stretch.
