A Pine Ridge man has pleaded guilty in federal court to killing his nephew last May.
Eric Anduja, 53, was admitted Tuesday to voluntary manslaughter, a reduced charge from the original count of second‑degree murder. According to court documents, Anduja told investigators he became angry with his nephew, 32‑year‑old Alban Vitalis, and stabbed him in the neck with a kitchen knife. Vitalis later died at a nearby residence.
Anduja faces up to 15 years in federal prison, and both prosecutors and defense attorneys say they will jointly recommend the maximum sentence. His sentencing is scheduled for April 13.
