Spearfish honored nine student‑athletes on Wednesday as they signed their national letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. The ceremony took place at the Spearfish CTE Commons Building.
Five of the signees will stay close to home, committing to Black Hills State University. Taylor Vitto and Mia Durdall will compete in track and field, Adelyn Bouman will join the Yellow Jacket volleyball program, and Lauren Peotter along with Daniela Rodriguez will continue their careers on the BHSU women’s soccer team.
Four additional athletes signed to programs across the region. Asher Peil committed to play football at Northwestern College, Laythen Lucas will play football at Dakota State, Jack Couaette is headed to Jamestown for football, and Tabitha Zandstra will play volleyball at Mount Marty University.
