Rapid City firefighters quickly contained a fast-moving grass fire early Tuesday morning near the I-90 and I-190 interchange. Crews were called out around 12:30 a.m. and found flames spreading through dry grass. The fire burned roughly 16 acres before being contained just before 3 a.m.
Officials say natural circumstances caused the fire and did not threaten nearby homes or businesses. No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
