Gas prices in South Dakota climbed sharply over the past week, rising 11 cents to an average of $3.63 per gallon, according to GasBuddy. That’s 43 cents higher than a month ago and nearly 64 cents more than this time last year. Drivers are seeing a wide range at the pump, with prices anywhere from $3.19 to $4.49 per gallon across the state.
Nationally, prices held steady at $4.07, though still well above last year’s levels. GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan says global tensions and concerns over oil supply disruptions continue to push prices upward, and more volatility is possible in the weeks ahead.
