The College Sports Communicators announced the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-America teams for the sport of men’s basketball on Tuesday morning, which included Black Hills State University redshirt sophomore guard Cam Lowe gaining first team honors for his work both on the court and in the classroom.
Lowe recorded a decorated second season in Spearfish, helping lead the Yellow Jackets to their third Elite Eight in five years. Along with his athletic achievements of NABC All-American, Bevo Francis Award Top-25 Watch List, First Team D2CCA All-South Central Region, RMAC Player of the Year, and First Team All-RMAC, off the court and in the classroom he has also received recognition for CSC Academic All-District, RMAC Academic Player of the Year, First Team Academic All-RMAC, and RMAC Academic Honor Roll. During his sophomore campaign he averaged 17.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.0 steal per game as he posted 28 double digit scoring performances and 15 20-point performances. His 595 points scored this season ranks sixth most in program history. In January he scored a career-high 31 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field and 7-of-10 shooting from 3-point range against Colorado Mesa. Once again facing the Mavericks in the RMAC Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship, he became the second player this season for the Green & Gold to hit 1,000 career points, joining Tristan Hurdle, as he now sits at 1,066 points in his Black Hills State career. He has connected on three or more 3-pointers 16 times this year, and nationally in NCAA Division II this season he ranked 18th in total 3-pointers made (92) and is 35th in 3-point percentage (39.5%). He connected on his 100th career 3-pointer against Regis and since brought his career 3-point shooting up to 156-of-395 (39.5%), ranking ninth in program history. Additionally, his 92 made 3-pointers this season ranks third all-time in school history in single season 3-pointers made, the most made since Travis Traphagen made a school record 97 in 1997-98. In the Yellow Jackets match-up with New Mexico Highlands in January he grabbed a season-best 11 rebounds, marking his first of two double-doubles of the year as he added 12 points. The match-up with NMHU was one of 23 games with six or more boards. He also dished out at least three assists in 20 games this season.
