As the nation marks Police Week, the Belle Fourche Police Department is highlighting a decline in line‑of‑duty deaths nationwide.
The department shared statistics on social media showing that one‑hundred‑nine law enforcement officers died in the line of duty in 2025. That number is down from 148 deaths in 2024 and 118 in 2023.
