An Eagle Butte man has been convicted on federal sexual abuse charges following a jury trial in Rapid City. Federal prosecutors say 24-year-old Emanual Semon was found guilty on May seventh of sexual abuse without consent and sexual abuse of a minor.
The charges stem from a July 2024 incident at a home on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Evidence presented at trial showed Semon engaged in sexual activity with a juvenile female without her consent. The incident ended when an adult entered the room.
Semon now faces a possible sentence of up to life in prison. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled. He remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
