Drivers in Spearfish can expect a temporary road closure as work begins on a new housing development.
Crews are installing sanitary sewer infrastructure for the Eastside Acres development, located near Sky Ridge on Colorado Boulevard. The project includes a connection to the Aurora Avenue sewer main.
As a result, a section of Aurora Avenue just south of Colorado Boulevard will be closed to through traffic until at least May 21.
A detour will direct residents from Colorado Boulevard to Sky Ridge Avenue to access homes south of the closure.
City officials advise motorists to plan and use caution in the area.
