A community fundraiser in Rapid City is making a big impact for residents facing financial hardship.
The Bowls of Hope event raised more than ten thousand dollars to help local families struggling to pay utility bills. The fundraiser is hosted by City of Rapid City employees in partnership with St. Vincent de Paul.
Organizers say the event highlights how small contributions can add up to meaningful support for neighbors in need.
The Rapid City Council also approved up to ten thousand dollars in matching funds, doubling the impact of donations.
City staff teamed up with local churches and businesses to serve soup in exchange for donations, with all proceeds going toward utility assistance.
This marks the third Bowls of Hope fundraiser held within the past year.
