A juvenile has died following an ATV crash Monday evening in Lawrence County.
Authorities say the crash happened June 29 when an ATV carrying two riders rolled over an embankment in a rural area, causing critical injuries to one of the juveniles.
Family members called 911 and began lifesaving efforts before first responders arrived. Crews from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Spearfish Ambulance Service continued those efforts, but the juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, and the victim’s name has not been released. Officials are offering condolences to the family.
