Motorists traveling on Interstate 90 west of Spearfish should prepare for delays beginning Monday as a pavement repair project gets underway.
The South Dakota Department of Transportation says repairs will take place on the eastbound lanes of I-90, with traffic reduced to a single lane through the work zone.
The speed limit will be lowered to 65 miles per hour during construction and further reduced to 45 miles per hour whenever workers are present.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, use caution, and allow extra travel time while passing through the area.
The project is being completed by Sacrison Paving of Whitewood under a contract valued at approximately $174,000 dollars.
