A Rapid City man faces several charges after allegedly resisting officers and attempting to assault a law enforcement officer.
Police were called to the 1600 block of Space Avenue Friday afternoon at approximately 2:10 p.m. after receiving reports of a man attempting to force his way into an apartment building.
When officers arrived, they contacted 38-year-old Jeremy Hollen of Rapid City. Police say Hollen resisted attempts to detain him, pulling away from officers and at one point attempting to kick an officer during the encounter.
Authorities also report that Hollen provided a false name in an effort to mislead police.
Hollen was ultimately taken into custody and arrested on charges of obstruction, simple assault on law enforcement, impersonation to deceive law enforcement, and an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
