The Spearfish Sasquatch iLB put together one of their most impressive stretches of the season over the weekend, sweeping a three-game series from Bison Baseball and outscoring their opponents 58-12 at Black Hills Power Sports Complex.
The series began Thursday with a dramatic 10-9 victory. Spearfish rallied late behind a monster performance from Zach Pearrow, who drove in five runs on two hits. Pearrow delivered a two-run triple in the sixth inning and then broke the game open in the seventh with a three-run double. The Sasquatch collected 14 hits in the win, snapping a difficult stretch after going 1-3 in their previous series at Oahe Zap.
On Friday, the Sasquatch offense reached historic proportions in a 31-0 rout of Bison Baseball. The 31 runs marked the highest-scoring game in franchise history.
Sam Kwapnioski led the charge, driving in eight runs while going 5-for-5. He recorded a triple, two doubles, and two singles in a dominant offensive display. Spearfish exploded for 10 runs in the first inning and never looked back, finishing with 28 hits. Grant Sommers homered and drove in multiple runs, while Braden Smith and Zach Pearrow each added home runs. On the mound, Giovanni Casas, Mac Hibben, Malakai Lopez, and Dominic Torrez combined for a shutout, with Hibben earning the win after striking out six over three innings.
The Sasquatch completed the sweep Saturday with a 17-3 victory. After Bison briefly took a 3-2 lead in the third inning, Spearfish answered with four runs in the bottom half and then put the game away with an eight-run fifth inning. Kendrick Aragon paced the offense, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while Pearrow and Garrett Houston each added multiple hits. Sam Kwapnioski picked up the win in relief, and Evan Hesse tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
For the series, Spearfish scored 58 runs while piling up 55 hits across the three games. Pearrow and Kwapnioski were at the center of the offensive surge, combining for 13 RBIs in the first two contests alone. The Sasquatch also played clean defense throughout the weekend, committing no errors in both Friday’s and Saturday’s victories.
