The City of Sturgis says its ambulance service is now fully staffed and ready for the upcoming Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
City officials thanked everyone who helped spread the word about staffing needs and those who expressed interest in joining the team.
The announcement comes as emergency medical crews prepare for one of their busiest times of the year. During the 10-day Motorcycle Rally, Sturgis Ambulance typically responds to about 220 calls.
By comparison, officials say the service may handle as few as five calls on a normal day.
City leaders say having a full staff in place will help ensure EMS crews are prepared to meet the increased demand during the annual event.
