The Sturgis City Council has approved a contract for the Avalanche Road Paving Project.
At its meeting Monday night, the council accepted a low bid of just over $326,000 from Sacrison Paving. The company submitted the lowest of four bids received for the project.
The work will include paving approximately 3,400 feet of Avalanche Road, extending from the Harvest Meadows and Valley View development north to the city rubble site.
City officials say the project is intended to improve access and roadway conditions along the corridor.
Construction is expected to move forward following the contract award.
