An Eagle Butte man has been sentenced to three years and six months in federal prison for assault resulting in serious bodily injury on the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation.
According to U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons, 29-year-old Trevin Antonio was sentenced July 13 after pleading guilty to the charge. He was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release and pay a $100 special assessment.
Prosecutors say Antonio assaulted a woman with a weapon on July 31, 2025, causing severe facial injuries that required hospitalization.
Antonio was indicted in October 2025 and pleaded guilty in April 2026.
The case was investigated by the FBI and Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Following sentencing, Antonio was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
