Firefighters are once again battling the Bigly Fire near Sheridan Lake after the wildfire reignited over the weekend.
The lightning-caused fire, burning between 10 and 15 acres off Victoria Lake Road, had previously been declared controlled on July 30. However, when crews returned Saturday to monitor the burn area, they discovered the fire had flared back up.
Ground crews and air resources were immediately dispatched to contain the renewed fire activity.
As firefighting operations continue, authorities have closed Victoria Lake Road and Taylor Ranch Road in the area of Sheridan Lake. Officials are asking the public to stay away from the affected area to allow crews to work safely.
At this time, no evacuations have been ordered.
Fire managers say they will continue monitoring conditions and provide updates as more information becomes available.
