DEADWOOD, S.D. – A man was hospitalized following a stabbing in downtown Deadwood early Sunday morning.
Deadwood Police say officers were called to the 300 block of Main Street around 2 a.m. after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed.
When officers arrived, they detained a male suspect at the scene. The victim was transported to the Deadwood emergency room for treatment. Authorities have not released the extent of the victim’s injuries or the identities of those involved.
The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
