ROSEBUD, S.D. – A Native-owned business on the Rosebud Reservation is receiving national recognition for its growth and service to the community.
Rosebud Building Products has been named South Dakota’s 2026 Hardware All Star by industry publication HBSDealer. The company was one of 50 independent hardware stores, lumberyards, and home centers nationwide selected for the annual award.
The business was founded by sisters Ellen and Serena Harmon, enrolled members of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. What began as a small family operation selling lumber from a trailer has expanded into a full-service hardware store, lumberyard, building materials supplier, and equipment rental center.
Today, Rosebud Building Products serves homeowners, contractors, tribal programs, and other customers across the reservation and surrounding communities.
Company leaders say the focus goes beyond selling products, with an emphasis on supporting local projects, creating jobs, and investing in the community.
The latest honor follows additional national recognition in 2025, when both Harmon sisters were named Rising Stars by HBSDealer as part of its Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply awards.
