RAPID CITY, S.D. – Three people have been arrested after a DoorDash driver’s vehicle was stolen and later recovered in Rapid City.
Police say the theft was reported around 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 20th at a restaurant on East North Street. The driver told officers they left their blue Nissan running and unlocked while picking up an order, and the vehicle was gone when they returned.
A short time later, the stolen vehicle was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run crash in a parking lot on Space Avenue, leaving behind its front bumper.
Later that evening, officers located the heavily damaged Nissan abandoned at a gas station on Sturgis Road. Investigators identified several people seen arriving in the vehicle on surveillance video and detained them nearby.
Arrested were 25-year-old Aarenee Hollowhorn, 19-year-old Asia Hollowhorn-Cutt, and 23-year-old Trevor Sierra. All face charges related to possession of a stolen vehicle, while Hollowhorn also faces open container and warrant-related charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
