STURGIS, S.D. – Emergency crews responded to a rollover crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 90 near Sturgis Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. at the Exit 30 interchange when an eastbound semi hauling hay left the roadway and rolled onto its driver’s side in the median.
Authorities say the truck was not blocking traffic, although motorists experienced slowdowns while emergency crews worked at the scene. Most of the hay remained secured to the trailer, with only a few bales scattered into the median.
Sturgis Ambulance was called to the scene to treat the driver, who suffered injuries of unknown severity. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
