SPEARFISH, S.D. – A city drainage improvement project aimed at reducing standing water and improving stormwater flow is getting underway this week near Wyoming Court and Yellowstone Place.
The project includes installing a concrete-lined drainage channel, replacing undersized box culverts, adding riprap, and completing other upgrades in and around the drainage ditch located south of Yellowstone Place and north of Wyoming Court.
City officials say contractors are working to minimize impacts on traffic and residents. However, temporary closures on Canyon Street may be necessary during construction. If closures occur, city staff will coordinate with homeowners to maintain access and parking while limiting disruptions.
The drainage improvement project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
