ROSEBUD, S.D. – A Rosebud woman has been sentenced to more than two years in federal prison for a fatal crash on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation.
34-year-old Crystal McCloskey was sentenced to two years and four months in federal prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
Prosecutors say McCloskey was under the influence of alcohol and drugs and driving at a high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate a curve near Rosebud in June 2025. The vehicle rolled, ejecting both McCloskey and her passenger.
The passenger died from injuries sustained in the crash.
In addition to her prison sentence, McCloskey was ordered to serve three years of supervised release following her incarceration. She is scheduled to report to federal custody on November 10.
