BUFFALO, S.D. – Harding County voters have approved a school bond issue aimed at funding major facility and infrastructure improvements for the local school district.
Unofficial results show the measure passing with 62 percent of voters in favor and 38 percent opposed, with all precincts reporting.
The bond will fund a variety of high-priority projects, including repairs and upgrades to roofs, mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, parking areas, and sidewalks.
School officials say the bond package was designed so there will be no net increase to the district’s current overall school tax rate while addressing long-term maintenance needs.
