The Sturgis Brown Lady Scoopers (8-14) earned a decisive 3-0 victory over the Lead-Deadwood Lady Golddiggers (9-17) Thursday night, winning sets 25-16, 25-20, and 25-8.
Sturgis controlled the match from start to finish, anchored by strong net defense from middle blockers Olivia and Madeline Vliem and consistent serving from libero Hayden Larson. Larson was named Superior Performer of the Game, an honor sponsored by Superior Auto Solutions in Spearfish.
The win marks Sturgis Brown’s 11th consecutive victory over Lead-Deadwood and their eighth win of the season. The Scoopers return to action Tuesday night with a Black Hills Conference matchup at Rapid City Christian, scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Lead-Deadwood, still seeking its first double-digit win season since 2019-2020, travels to Bison on Saturday. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
