The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the 2025 women’s soccer all-conference team and special awards on Tuesday afternoon as postseason play is now in full swing. Representing Black Hills State University among the honorees was the pair of Leah Day and Katy Vinton, who each earned Honorable Mention All-RMAC for their first all-league selection of their careers as they helped the Yellow Jackets to a school record win total.

Day, a senior midfielder from Brighton, Colorado, tied for second on the team with six points as she scored a pair of goals and assisted on two more. She entered the season having only one career goal and assist in three prior seasons in the Green & Gold. She tallied her scoring with three points, a goal and an assist in wins over both Dakota State and New Mexico Highlands. Her goal against the Cowgirls came by way of a game-winning penalty kick in the 82nd minute. Day was one of four players to start all 18 contests this season, recording the second-most minutes (1,367), shots (29), and shots on goal (12).

Vinton, a redshirt senior defender from North Pole, Alaska, was also one of the four Yellow Jackets to start all 18 matches this season. Making the switch from forward to the back line of defense in the offseason. She helped BHSU post the top defensive season in program history, surrendering the lowest number of goals (25), shots (200), and shots on goal (103), by opponents. Additionally, the Green & Gold’s defense broke the school record for shutouts with five and limited opposing offenses to zero or one goal in 12 matches, the most such games in program history. Despite switching over to defense, she still found her way into the offensive attack, notching 16 shot attempts with five on target, including finding the back of the net in the season finale at Regis to bring herself into the top-5 in school history in career goals (5) and points (15).
