The Spearfish Lady Spartans (1–1) return to their home floor today looking to rebound against another Class AA state tournament qualifier, the Pierre Lady Governors.
Spearfish aims to regroup after Friday night’s 52–36 loss to Aberdeen Central, while Pierre enters the matchup coming off a 55–48 road win over Sturgis.
Both teams reached the Class AA state tournament last season, with the Spartans finishing sixth and the Lady Governors placing eighth. Spearfish also claimed last year’s meeting, a 62–45 road victory in which the Spartans controlled the pace throughout.
Historically, Pierre has held the edge, leading the series 10–4 since 2006. Spearfish snapped a five‑game skid against the Governors with last year’s win, and Pierre now looks to avoid dropping consecutive games to the Spartans for the first time since 2018.
