The 38th Annual 3‑Class Shootout, featuring many of South Dakota’s top senior basketball players, is set for Saturday, March 28, at the McCook Central Auditorium in Salem. All three classes in both boys and girls divisions will compete in a five‑game schedule beginning at 1 p.m.
Spearfish will be represented by two Class AA selections: Kate Scharf on the girls roster and Kamren Davis on the boys roster.
Scharf has been one of the most consistent contributors for the Spartans throughout her career. The Western Colorado commit averaged a team‑high 14 points per game this season and led Spearfish in steals with 40. She also finished among the top three Spartans in both rebounds (3.6 rpg) and assists, developing into a complete, two‑way player under head coach Dakota Johnson.
Davis provided a spark for the Spearfish boys all season, often delivering highlight‑reel moments. He ranked second on the team in scoring at roughly 12 points per game while adding 4.5 rebounds and 2 steals per contest. Known for his athleticism, Davis recorded multiple dunks this year and energized home crowds with his ability to score in a variety of ways.
