
Spearfish guard Kate Scharf delivered a strong performance Saturday as the Class AA all‑stars won both of their games at the annual 3‑Class Shootout.
Class AA opened the event with a 100–92 win over Class A, led by Washington’s Dana Harpe with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Valley’s Alyvia Padgett, who earned Class AA MVP honors, added 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
AA completed the sweep with a 103–72 victory over Class B in the second matchup. Scharf finished with 13 points, one of the top scoring totals for Class AA in the game. O’Gorman’s Sadie Mehrman led the team with 17 points and six assists, while Padgett added 14.
Class A was paced by Mahpiya Luta’s Ashlan Carlow‑Blount, the Class A MVP, who posted 26 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Class B MVP Hazel Luethmers of De Smet scored 20 points with eight rebounds in the final game.
Scharf’s performance helped anchor a balanced Class AA roster as the team secured wins over both Class A and Class B in the postseason showcase.
