About 75 municipal officials from roughly 10 cities gathered in Belle Fourche this week for the South Dakota Municipal League’s District 10 Meeting. SDML President Leland Treichel highlighted the strengths of the organization, while Executive Director Sara Rankin reviewed the impacts of the 2026 legislative session on local governments.
The evening’s discussion covered election changes, social media use, and infrastructure tools for communities. District officers were also re‑elected, with Gina Carpenter of Belle Fourche returning as Chair and Sharon Martinisko of Deadwood as Vice Chair.
Officials also voted to hold the 2027 District 10 Meeting in Spearfish.
