The YMCA of the Black Hills is taking part in Five Days of Action, a national child‑abuse prevention campaign running from April 13th through 17th. The Y will share resources, host activities, and offer education to help parents and caregivers keep kids safe — both online and offline.
Staff says technology can pose risks, but most abuse — about 97% — involves someone the child already knows. The campaign encourages adults to learn warning signs, talk with children, and use digital‑safety tools.
The YMCA is partnering with national child‑protection organizations, and adults can also take a pledge to help keep kids safe. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
