Gaming activity in Deadwood continued to rise in March. The South Dakota Commission of Gaming reports overall revenue was up 8.51% compared to the same month last year. Slot machines led the growth with an 8.9% increase, while table games were up 2.79% and sports wagering rose 3.46%.
For the first quarter of 2026, overall gaming activity is up 11.44% year‑over‑year. Casinos reported more than $12.5 million in taxable gross revenues for March, generating over $1.1 million in gaming taxes that help fund state programs, including tourism and Lawrence County.
