A seventy‑three‑year‑old motorcyclist was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a crash on North Rochford Road near Nemo.
Officials say the rider was traveling south when a deer attempted to cross the roadway. The driver tried to stop, but the motorcycle brakes locked up, causing it to slide. The man was taken to a Deadwood hospital with serious but non‑life‑threatening injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
