Authorities with the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe are investigating a deadly hit-and-run incident in Eagle Butte.
Law enforcement responded Sunday, June 14th, to reports of a vehicle striking a 27-year-old woman. When officers arrived on scene, they found the driver had fled and immediately began providing aid to the victim.
The woman was transported to the Cheyenne River Health Center, where she later died from her injuries.
Officials say suspects in the case have since been located and taken into custody. However, no additional details have been released as the investigation continues.
Law enforcement officials have expressed their condolences to the victim’s family as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
