U.S. Senator Mike Rounds is asking South Dakotans to speak up about ongoing mail delivery problems as a federal investigation moves forward.
Rounds is encouraging residents experiencing delays or unreliable service to submit feedback directly to the U.S. Postal Service Office of the Inspector General. The office is currently gathering public input as part of an investigation launched at the senator’s request.
In a statement, Rounds said his office continues to hear daily complaints about mail service issues across the state and stressed the importance of public input in documenting the extent of the problem.
According to his office, the deadline to submit comments is July 26th.
The investigation comes after years of concerns over slow and inconsistent mail delivery in South Dakota. Rounds has previously pushed postal officials to maintain in-state processing and improve reliability.
Earlier this month, he also announced plans to block certain Postal Service nominees in the Senate until service concerns are addressed.
Residents with mail delivery issues are encouraged to submit their feedback before the deadline as federal officials continue reviewing the situation.
