The Spearfish Sasquatch put together one of their most complete performances of the season Tuesday night, pounding out 12 hits and drawing 12 walks in a convincing 14-4 victory over Bison Baseball at Black Hills Energy Stadium.
The Sasquatch wasted little time taking control, scoring in the first inning when Noah Betanco delivered an RBI single. Spearfish continued to apply pressure in the second, with Betanco striking again with a run-scoring double to help build a 4-0 lead.
The offense kept rolling in the third inning. Lucas Terilli tripled home a run before Malakai Lopez followed with an RBI single to push the advantage to 6-0.
On the mound, Colter Wilson set the tone for the Sasquatch. The right-hander earned the win after allowing just four hits over four scoreless innings while striking out seven and walking one.
Bison’s biggest offensive spark came in the sixth inning when Mason Bevan launched a two-run home run to right field, but Spearfish immediately answered with a decisive four-run rally in the bottom half of the frame.
Carter Towns highlighted the inning with a two-run blast to center field. Terilli added a sacrifice fly, and Lopez collected another RBI single as the Sasquatch stretched their lead and put the game out of reach.
Spearfish’s offense was productive throughout the lineup. Betanco led the way with three hits in four at-bats, while Towns, Lopez, and Crew Moeller each recorded multiple hits.
Wilson Kieffer and Terilli drove in three runs apiece, and Lopez added two RBIs of his own. Jack Branum helped fuel the attack by drawing three walks, part of a disciplined team effort that produced 12 free passes.
Matthew Martinez and Karver Partlow combined to finish the game in relief for Spearfish.
Bison collected 11 hits in the loss, with Bevan and Cam Haggensen each driving in two runs. Pablo Briceno and Harrison Simpson added multiple-hit performances.
With the victory, the Sasquatch will look to keep their momentum going when they host Bison Baseball again on Wednesday in Spearfish.
