A local cat rescue is extending a discounted adoption event after no cats found homes during the weekend.
A Place for Meow Rescue is offering 50 percent off adoption fees for cats six months of age and older through Sunday at the Rapid City Petco.
Rescue officials say all adopted cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed. The organization also requires that adopted cats be kept indoors.
A rescue representative says many of the cats have come from difficult situations and are eager to become loving companions in a permanent home.
