Two students from Sturgis are among six South Dakota teens chosen to serve on the 2026-2027 South Dakota Farmers Union Junior Advisory Council.
Ethan Mutter and Riley Mutter were selected through an interview and peer-election process. They will serve alongside Danielle Kruger of De Smet, Logan LaMont of Union Center, Kyle Olson of Aberdeen, and Lennox Rumpca of Webster.
As members of the Junior Advisory Council, the students recently helped plan and lead the 2026 Junior State Camp. Over the next year, they’ll also work as counselors and organizers for the 2027 Senior State Leadership Camp.
The newly selected council members say they hope to provide future campers with the same positive experiences they enjoyed themselves. Ethan Mutter says he wants to help create lasting memories for campers, while Riley Mutter says she’s excited to plan activities and see campers have fun.
The Junior Advisory Council is designed to help students develop leadership skills while mentoring younger Farmers Union members through camps and cooperative education programs.
