South Dakota’s Department of Tribal Relations will host its ninth annual State-Tribal Opioid and Methamphetamine Prevention Summit Sept. 10-11 in Pierre.
The summit will bring together tribal, state and local prevention providers, along with law enforcement, to discuss drug trends, recovery and ways to improve community health and safety.
The two-day event will feature presentations from several agencies and organizations, including the South Dakota Fusion Center, Oglala Lakota Division of Behavioral Health, Bureau of Indian Affairs Drug Division and U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The summit will also include testimony from two people in recovery who work with I. Am. Legacy.
The event is free and open to treatment providers, state and tribal leaders, law enforcement officials and others interested in substance-use prevention and recovery.
